Carlisle believes that continued education is vital to the growth of our employees and our business. The Education Assistance Program supports qualified programs that develop and improve skills that are mutually beneficial to you and the organization. Through our partnership with Edcor, you’ll experience expanded reimbursement benefits and a streamlined online process for tuition and certification assistance.
Program Enhancement Highlights
Tuition Reimbursement:
- 100% Tuition Reimbursement Rate – Increased from 90%
- 18 Credits Per Year – Increased from 15 credits
- No Annual Dollar Limit – Previous $9,500 cap removed
- GED Program Added – Now eligible for reimbursement
- Certifications – 90% reimbursement rate, $9,500 annual cap
- Both Tuition & Certification with Expanded Expense Coverage – Required books, fees, and taxes fully covered
Programs Covered
1. Tuition Assistance | 100% reimbursement, up to 18 credits annually
- Eligible for undergraduate, graduate and GED education coursework at accredited institutions required for your current or future role.
- Eligible Degrees:
- Undergraduate: Associate or Bachelor’s degree
- Graduate: MBA or other approved graduate-level degrees
- GED credential
- Undergraduate credit-bearing certificate programs to develop skills for your current or future role
- Not Eligible:
- Executive MBA, Doctorate, and Juris Doctor (JD) programs are excluded from these programs.
2. Certification Assistance | 90% reimbursement, up to $9,500 annually
- Covers costs to earn or maintain professional certifications required for your current or future role.
- Eligible expenses include exam fees, prep courses, continuing education units (CEUs) required to maintain certification, required books, and related taxes/shipping.
3. Academic Advising | Free Service
- Access one-on-one support from Edcor advisors to:
- Build an academic plan
- Compare schools and costs
- Transfer credits or use prior learning for credit
- Select courses or programs aligned with your career goals
- Learn about available tuition discounts
- To request advising, eligible employees should log into their Edcor account, start a new application, and select Academic Advising.
Eligibility
How the Program Works
1. Apply for Benefits
- Submit an application no sooner than 120 days before and no later than 30 days after your course start date.
- For tuition assistance, one application per semester is required, up to 4 courses per term.
- Application routes to your manager and two levels of HR for approval.
2. Request Reimbursement
- After course completion, upload required documentation:
- Grades/transcripts
- Itemized invoices and proof of payment
- Book receipts and fees (if applicable)
- For certifications: Proof of successful completion (certificate or passing notice)
- Passing Grades:
- Undergraduate: C- or better
- Graduate: B- or better
- Certifications: Passing score or completion certificate
- Submit reimbursement within 90 days of term end.
- Approved reimbursements are issued via payroll within 1–2 pay cycles.
- Unsuccessful completion: Employees are responsible for all non-passing course or failed certification expenses.
3. Track Your Status
- Log into Edcor anytime to check application progress and payment status.
- You may also use www.trackmystatus.com with your tracking number.
Expenses Covered
- Tuition costs
- Required course fees (lab, technology, etc.)
- Required textbooks and related taxes/shipping
- Certification exam fees, prep courses, CEUs, recertification costs
- Not Covered: Late fees, parking, memberships, travel costs, or repeated classes previously reimbursed.
Tax Treatment
Carlisle follows IRS guidelines for taxability of education assistance benefits.
- Taxes are withheld accordingly per IRS guidelines and can be tracked in your Edcor account.
- Important: Totals are calculated based on the date of payment, not course completion. Applications are approved for the requested amount, and final benefit limits are applied on reimbursement payment date.
